Membership at Clay Shed is designed to help you build confidence, develop your skills and feel supported as a maker. Join a welcoming, collaborative community of ceramic artists who share knowledge, offer guidance and inspire each other.

Part-time Membership
The monthly subscription includes:
+ 1 - 15 hours of studio access per week
+ One storage shelf (equivalent to 1.7 m2) to store tools and materials
Firings are conducted by the Clay Shed team and are charged as an additional cost. Studio Members buy their own clay and materials.

Full-time Membership
The monthly subscription includes:
+ Unlimited 24/7 access to the studio
+ A personal shelving unit with five shelves
Full-time members fire their own work and buy their own clay and materials - full kiln training is provided. Firings are charged as an additional cost.

Tech Exchange Member
Our Tech Exchange Membership is an exciting opportunity for early-career makers and recent graduates to access specialist ceramic facilities and develop both technical and studio-management skills.
In return for 4 hours of hands-on technical support each week, you’ll receive up to 15 hours of fully subsidised studio time. We’ll teach you how to manage the day-to-day tasks of a studio, including health and safety, mixing glazes, reclaiming clay, kiln loading and maintenance.
Applicants should have experience of operating in a busy ceramics studio with some understanding of clay management, glazing, and kiln firing. We're seeking an individual who is self motivated and can work independently with excellent communication skills.

Our facilities include:
7 x Shimpo pottery wheels
Slab-roller
Glasdstone Extruder with dies
Slip casting table
Glazing spray booth
Areas for glaze mixing and plaster work
4 x electric kilns ranging from 60 - 290 litres
4 x large tables
Members can reserve group working spaces and equipment via our app, ensuring that you can access the equipment you need in advance of your studio time.
We provide communal storage for work in progress, ensuring that you have enough space in your personal storage for your tools and equipment.
Our communal facilities include a kitchen - with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster - as well as WC facilities and WiFi.
